Abstract – Exuberance! by Marcy Brennan

Oil on 30″ x 30″ x 1.5″ deep gallery canvas

There are lots of layers in this painting that gives it rich texture.  The last layer was painted with a large palette knife and at the end, I added drips to create even more interest and texture.  This was just one of those days that everything worked perfectly.  I really love the way the colors blended and new colors happened with the drips.  Colors excite me and that’s why I love painting so much!

Buddy – Stephanie’s Soul Dog – RIP by Marcy Brennan

Acrylic on 12″ x 12″ x 1.5″ deep gallery canvas – NFS

I painted this for my daughter who rescued Buddy from the Humane Society.  Sadly, Buddy had cancer and they had to put him down a few months ago.  I did this painting for my daughter and her family to remember this gentle, lovable dog by.  We think he was a lab-dalmation mix, but whatever the breed, he was my daughter’s soul dog and loved by everybody he met.

You can commission me to paint a portrait of your pet.
I will paint it on a 12″ x 12″ gallery canvas that is ready to hang without a frame for $150.
Painted from your favorite photo.

Abstract – Coral Life by Marcy Brennan

Acrylic on 24″ x 24″ x 3/4″ gallery canvas

This is the third in my series of three abstract paintings. I put it on Facebook and asked for some suggestions for a name for it. One of my friends said it reminded her of coral in the sea, so I decided to name it Coral Life in keeping with the “Life” names I used in my first two in this series. It has lots of layers of paint so there is some nice texture in this painting.

Abstract – Water Life by Marcy Brennan

Acrylic on 24″ x 24″ x 3/4″ deep gallery canvas

This is the second in my series of three abstracts I’ve been recently working on. I love the water and incorporated all my favorite colors of the water at the inlet across from where I live. There are many layers to this piece and therefore lots of interesting texture.  Edges are painted a coordinating turquoise.

This is the first in a series of three abstracts I have been working on recently.  When I put this on Pinterest earlier this week, I had tons of people liking and re-pinning it.  Made me feel honored!

Pink Garden Rose by Marcy Brennan

24″ x 30″ oil on 1.5″ deep gallery canvas

Pink roses are my all-time favorite flowers.  I painted this several years ago from a photo I took of a rose in our backyard garden.  I wanted the rose to just fill the entire canvas so you can almost feel it opening up before your eyes.

White water lilies on purple lily pads

5″ x 7″ oil on canvas panel

This is a new painting in my water lily series.  I used one of Arlene Brooks’ wonderful photos and took a little liberty with the lily pads making them a bit more purple than the photo.  I loved the green color of the water, especially with the purple lily pads.  This was a fun one to paint.

Farmers Market Bing Cherries

Farmers Market Bing Cherries

12″ x 12″ oil on 1-1/2″ deep gallery canvas

I painted this last year from a photo I took one Saturday morning at our wonderful
Fort Pierce Farmer’s Market in our beautiful little downtown right on the Indian River waterfront.
The market has grown incredibly over the past five years, and it’s now one of the top farmer’s markets in Florida.  Rain or shine, cold, wind, or dog days of summer, the market shall go on!

These were the most luscious cherries, I couldn’t resist snapping a photo to paint from later.
I cropped the outside edges of the little blue cartons (my favorite Taos blue color) to give this a more graphic look.

I just realized this week that I’d never posted this to my site.  I think I subconsciously didn’t post this painting because I especially love the colors and shapes, hung it in my kitchen and have been enjoying it so much ever since!  Every time I look at this painting, I want to pluck one of those cherries right off the wall and pop it into my mouth – LOVE bing cherries!  How about you?

Flowers for Sale – Little Roadside Flower Market

Flowers for Sale

9″ x 12″ Watercolor on Paper

This is a fun and colorful watercolor I did while my sister Vangy and I were
at the West Palm Beach arts and crafts market in December
to sell our Christmas cards I’d painted.  More to the truth–she did the selling
while I “played” with my watercolors.  Two days of uninterrupted
painting and sister-bonding.  It just doesn’t get any better than that for me!!!
